Off-grid power planning
Size your van, boat or RV power system
Four free calculators that take you from "what do I run?" to a parts list: batteries, solar, inverter, and the wire that connects them.
Ah
Battery bank
Add your devices, get the lithium or AGM capacity you need.
WSolar panels
Panels and charge controller to refill your bank each day.
VAInverter
Continuous and surge watts for the AC gear you run.
AWGWire gauge
Cable size and fuse from amps, length and voltage drop.
The order to plan a system
- Battery first. List your daily loads to find your energy budget in watt-hours.
- Then solar. Size panels to put those watt-hours back in your worst season.
- Then the inverter, if you run anything that plugs into a wall outlet.
- Wire last. Once you know the currents, size every cable and fuse.
Each calculator explains its math, so you can check the numbers or adapt them to your build.
